40 HOURS VOLUNTEERING As a Ministry of Education requirement, all students must complete 40 hours of volunteer work between grade 9 and 12 to receive their secondary school diploma. The aim of the 40 hours of community involvement is to promote good citizenship and to encourage students to become actively involved in making positive contributions to their community.
The school will not be directly involved in finding volunteer placements. Ministry guidelines determine which activities are eligible or ineligible for the community involvement requirement. A complete list of eligible and ineligible activities is here .
Be sure to download the Volunteer Form from here . Remember if you don't record your hours in this Form it won't be counted.
