Student of the Month

Daniel Li competed in the ECOO and Canadian Computing Competitions this semester and then entered two programs separately in the Canada-wide University of Toronto Showcase Computer Science Fair 2011. Despite being nation-wide, his submissions were so good that they were as 2 of the 15 finalists at this year's competition on Saturday April 16. One submission was a website management system and the other was a portable bird watching guide. This is one amazing young man.

All busing students, please take notice to this reminder.

Students who want to ride home on a friend's bus must submit their request in writing 24 hours prior to departure and must have a note from a parent to the Glenforest administration which grants their permission to ride on a different bus. A letter to the bus driver will then be issued by a school administrator to the student who submitted the request.

TI-83 Plus EMULATOR -- Installation & Starting Guide

Please follow these steps to Install and Start the EMULATOR for the TI-83 Plus Handheld Graphing Calculator:

PHASE 1 - INSTALLATION
1.
Click on this link: http://education.ti.com/calculators/downloads/US/Software/Download/en/177/6560/83psdk_setup.exe
2.
In the window that pops up, click Run to start the installation.
3.
If prompted, click Run again.
4.
Click Continue.
5.
Read the License Agreement and click Yes.
6.
Click Next.
7.
Click Next.
8.
Click Next.
9.
Click Next.
10.
Click Finish
11.
If you want, read the ReadMe.txt file that opens, or just close it without reading it.
12.
Click OK to restart your PC and complete the installation.

PHASE 2 - STARTING AND USING THE EMULATOR
1.
On your desktop, double-click on the TI-83 Plus Flash Debugger icon.
2.
From the File menu, select New.
3.
Ensure that the TI-83 Plus option is selected, then click OK.
4.
In the Icons row, click on the "go button" (the Black Triangle button, located on the right of the Save button).
5.
The previous action starts the TI-83 Plus EMULATOR which works exactly like the HANDHELD TI-83 Plus Calculator.
6.
Final Note: upon closing the Emulator and then the Flash Debugger, when asked whether to "Save changes to TI-83 Plus" click No
