WHAT IS THE GIFTED PROGRAM?
As a designated regional centre for the education of the gifted
students, Glenforest Secondary School offers a full range of
enhanced curriculum from Grade 9 to the Grade 12 level. Glenforest
provides enhanced students with carefully crafted programs,
taught by teachers who understand the needs of the gifted student.
Your child will also benefit from working alongside other gifted
students who share their interests and abilities.
The gifted students at Glenforest have access to a broad range
of leadership opportunities and innovative programs within a
progressive, eco-friendly school. Students can also enjoy the
fullness of student life at Glenforest, including a strong intramural
sports program, the school newspaper and yearbook and an active
social calendar.
In addition, Glenforest takes a proactive role in connecting
its students to the wider community through volunteer service,
guest speakers, relevant workshops, networking and career research
and opportunities to include real-world experience in their
skill sets.
REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENCE
Glenforest’s excellent academic standing is widely recognized.
Students regularly win competitions, scholarships and university
placements at Canadian universities, as well as Harvard, MIT,
and the Wharton School of Business.
CAREER RESEARCH
Glenforest provides enhanced students with carefully crafted
programs, taught by teachers who understand the needs of the
gifted students. Your child will also benefit from working Glenforest

one-on-one counselling, guest speakers and specialized workshops,

To enhance scholarship applications and university placement,
the gifted student today must strengthen their ties to the community.
Glenforest's Enhanced Program brings students together with
community organizations to provide real-world experiences and

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
The gifted student at Glenforest can take full advantage of
self-assessment tools and personal development workshops such
as the Myers-Briggs Personality Inventory, True Colors, "How
the Brain Learns" and Leadership Skills Workshops. |
