On May 20th, 2010, from 9am to 1pm, this semester's co-op students will be presenting display boards to describe their workplace experiences. Students and teachers are invited to stop by anytime between 9am to 1pm to see all the different careers our students have experienced.

You are a part of an exciting and expanding educational concept. As a Co-Op student, you will recieve in-school instruction complemented by on-the-job learning. You will be provided with the opportunity to experience the practical aspects of a job, the demands of employment and the expectations of employers.
This course prepares students to make successful transitions to post-secondary work and education or training. It integrates academic study and classroom theory with practical applications in the workplace. Students are required to attend pre-placement orientation sessions that include health and safety training, interview skills, workplace communication and employment standards. Students will explore the realities and opportunities of modern workplaces, while refining their transferable skills and learning how to to manage their careers. Students will recieve personal placement learning plans that describe the knowledge and skills that students will practice in the workplace in order to apply and consolidate the learning from the classroom.
